One of New Hampshire’s most impressive sights is Lake Winnipesaukee, viewed from a high vantage point. If you haven’t seen the big lake this way, promise yourself that you’ll try one of these rewarding hikes!

Climb the Belknap Range which offers a number of incredible perspectives. You’ll get a good workout too! Favorite spots in the range include Mount Major, which is quite close to the lake, over looking Alton Bay with the wide expanses of the lake and the White Mountains as dramatic backdrop. Or try hiking Belknap Mountain, where from an observation deck on the fire tower, you can see pretty much all of Winnipesaukee AND Winnisquam in a single view!
Dedicate at least half a day for these hikes. Pack lunch, warm gear, water and be sure to let someone know your itinerary before you head out.
